Big Ten Names Northwestern's Mosolova Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week



Mosolova won all of her singles matches in straight sets in Northwestern's road trip over the weekend.

Mosolova had a successful weekend, putting together three singles wins and two doubles wins.  On Friday against No. 5 North Carolina, Mosolova defeated No. 28 Katrina Tsang at No. 1 Singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.  In Saturday's dual, Mosolova teamed with Samantha Murray to beat Princeton's duo of Taylor Marable and Melissa Saiontz, 8-3.  The Moscow, Russia native, then went on to defeat Ivana King at No. 2 Singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.  To finish the weekend, Northwestern matched up with No. 8 Duke on Sunday.  Mosolova teamed with Alexis Conill at No. 3 Doubles to win 8-4 over Reka Zsilinszka and Ellah Nze.  The freshman then went on to defeat Tara Iyer at No. 1 Singles, 6-4, 6-3.  The Wildcats won all three duals during the road trip and are currently ranked No. 1 nationally for the first time in program history.  This is the second weekly honor of Mosolova's career.
