Iowa's Diane Nukuri smashed the 17-year old school reocord in the 10,000 meters with a time of 33:17.01 at the Standford Invitational

Women's Co-Track Athletes of the Week

Diane Nukuri, Iowa
Sr., Pickering, Ontario / St. Charles Garnier
Nukuri smashed Iowa's 17-year old 10,000-meter record by nearly 13 seconds facing top notch competition at the Standford Invitational where she placed second among college competitors.  Her time of 33:17.01 automatically qualifies her for the NCAA meet in June.  Nukuri racks up her first career weekly honor of the outdoor season.

Jamie Cheever, Minnesota
Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest

Cheever set a new personal-best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase last weekend in a team victory at the Oregon Pepsi Team Challenge.  Her first-place time of 10:11.33 is the second-best time in school history and regionally qualifies her for the Midwest meet.  The junior is honored with her first career weekly accolade.

Women's Co-Field Athletes of the Week

Abbie Stechschulte, Indiana
Sr., Columbus Grove, Ohio / Columbus Grove

Stechschulte was crowned the collegiate champion in the heptathlon at the 81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, producing a NCAA automatic and personal-best score of 5,661.  The senior's total is recorded as the second-best mark in school history.  Stechschulte earns her first career weekly honor.

Last IND Field Athlete of the Week: Rose Richmond (3/31/03)

Ruby Radocaj, Minnesota
Sr., Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport
Radocaj broke Minnesota's 13-year old school record by launching the javelin 187-6 (57.15) in a team victory at the Oregon Pepsi Team Invitational.  Her mark bettered both the NCAA regional qualifying and Olympic `A' standard and currently ranks as the No. 1 throw in the country.  The senior takes home her first career weekly honor.
