Big 12 Announces Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week (Feb. 12)

IRVING, Texas--Jordan Scott (Kansas) has been named the Big 12 Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while Kate Sultanova (Kansas) was chosen as Big 12 Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Feb. 5-11. This is the first accolade for Scott and the third honor of Sultanova's career, including her second straight.

Big 12 Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week
Jordan Scott, Kansas, So., Watkinsville, Ga./Oconee Scott won the pole vault title at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City. He cleared a career best 18 feet, ½ inch (5.50 meters), which is currently tied for the best in the nation. The mark is a NCAA-automatic qualifier and the third best in Big 12 history.

Big 12 Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week
Kate Sultanova, Kansas, Sr., Krasnodar, Russia/School No. 90
After posting a NCAA-automatic qualifying mark of 14-01 ¼ (4.20m) last week, Sultanova improved her height this weekend by one-tenth of an inch (14-01 ¼ /4.30m) . Her vault is currently the nation's leading height this season as well as the highest ever in the Big 12 Conference.
