IRVING, Texas--Chris Rohr (Missouri) has been named the Big 12 Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while Loren Groves (Kansas State) was chosen as Big 12 Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Feb. 19-25. This is the first career accolade for Rohr and the third weekly honor of Groves' career.
Big 12 Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week

Rohr added nearly four feet to his personal best and set a school record in the weight throw with a national and Big 12-leading mark of 73 feet, ½ inches (22.26m) at the Central Missouri Classic. The two-time All-American broke the 2002 school record of 72-3 ½ inches (22.04), set by Christian Cantwell, a three-time USATF Indoor Shot Put Champion. The NCAA automatic qualifying mark is currently the fifth best throw in Big 12 history.
Big 12 Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week
Loren Groves, Kansas State, Jr., Scott City, Mo./Scott City
Groves recorded her second-career NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the women's weight throw at the KSU Open with a meet-record of 69-02.75 (21.10m). The distance earned the junior her fifth win of the season and marks the second time Groves has thrown over 69 feet in 2008. Her two throws of over 69 feet are the top two marks ever recorded in the Big 12.
