IRVING, Texas--Leonel Manzano (Texas) was named the Big 12 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while Leslie Cole (Oklahoma) and D'Andra Carter (Texas Tech) were named Big 12 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for meets of April 22-28. This is the second weekly accolade for Manzano this season and the first honor of Cole and Carter's career.

Big 12 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week
Leonel Manzano, Texas, Sr., Marble Falls, Texas/Marble Falls

Manzano was named Outstanding College Relay Performer at the Penn Relays for the second consecutive year after anchoring the distance medley relay and the 4xmile to Championship of America victories. In the DMR, Texas won the event with a time of 9 minutes, 32.89 seconds, led by Manzano's anchor leg of 4:01.80, including a 54.4 final 400. He also anchored the victorious 4xmile squad in 16:29.50 with a final-leg split of 4:08.20. Those two victories, along with a win in the 4x800, helped Texas secure the distance triple -- becoming just the fifth school to accomplish the feat at the Penn Relays in its 114-year history.
