Irving, Texas - Texas senior Leo Manzano picks up his third award of the week after being named the Penn Relays Outstanding College Relay Performer and the Big 12 Athlete of the Week.

Texas senior Leo Manzano earned USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week honor after anchoring the Longhorns to victories in the distance medley relay and the 4xMile at the Penn Relays. Earlier this week, Manzano was named the meet's Outstanding College Relay Performer and was tabbed Big 12 Athlete of the Week.

Manzano opened his 2008 Penn Relays competition as the anchor of the DMR. He used a split of 4:01.8 in the 1,600-meter leg to help Texas finish in 9:32.89, ahead of Stanford (9:33.16) and Villanova (9:34.39).

The four-time National Champion and eight-time All-American came back to anchor the 4xMile to victory in 16:29.50, finishing ahead of Virginia (16:31.04) and Syracuse (16:31.99). Manzano ran a split of 4:08.2 to give the Horns their second consecutive victory in the event.

His performances helped Texas become just the fifth school all-time to pull off the distance triple, winning the DMR, 4xMile and 4x800, at the Penn Relays. He was also the anchor for the victorious DMR and 4xMile at the 2007 Penn Relays.
