Feb. 27, 2008

Jackie McFarland (Colorado) and Danielle Green (Oklahoma State) have been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Women's Basketball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

McFarland is a first team honoree and has been named to the squad for the third consecutive year after earning second team accolades in 2006 and 2007. She sports a 3.86 grade point average and is working on a concurrent degree program which will allow her to earn her MBA while completing her undergraduate degree in accounting.

Green was named to the second team with a 3.76 GPA in education. She is the first Cowgirl to receive Academic All-America honors since Jennifer Crow in 2000. Earlier this month Green was named to the Big 12 Conference Winter Sports Good Works Team.

To be eligible for All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
