Five Big 12 Softball Squads Earn ESPN.com/USA Softball Preseason Rankings

Texas A&M, the conference's preseason favorite, received a No. 3 ranking in the 2008 ESPN.com/USA Softball Preseason Top 25 Poll, announced by the Amateur Softball Association. The Aggies are joined in the top 10 by Oklahoma (No. 5) and Baylor (No. 9). The Big 12 is one of two conferences to have three squads in the top 10. The league is second overall with five teams ranked in the top 25 as Missouri (21) and Texas came in at No. 21 and tied for No. 24, respectively.

The 2008 season gets underway on February 8 with six Big 12 squads competing in non-conference action.
