Big 12 Softball Weekly Awards Announced (Feb. 19)

IRVING, Texas-- Jordan Daniels (Baylor) and Megan Gibson (Texas A&M) have been named the Big 12 Player and Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced. Gibson is receiving her fourth career weekly award, while this is the first honor for Daniels.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jordan Daniels, Baylor, 1B/DP, Sr., Tomball, Texas/Tomball
Daniels led the Lady Bears to a 3-1 record over the weekend with a .643 batting average (9-for-14) including two doubles and seven RBI. The senior also knocked three out of the park after entering the weekend with zero career home runs. She was responsible for seven of BU's 23 runs and owned a 1.429 slugging percentage. Daniels also recorded 17 putouts at first base.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Megan Gibson, Texas A&M, 1B/P, Sr., Spring, Texas/Spring
Gibson improved to a perfect 6-0 on the season after earning three wins at the Kajikawa Classic. She earned the start against Nevada, No. 1 Arizona and No. 15 Washington. The senior worked 21 complete innings, striking out 16, allowing just five earned runs and recording her second shutout of the season. Gibson batted at a .400 clip and belted two home runs, a double and five singles, driving home seven RBI. She also drew three walks to become the Big 12 career leader with 125.
