IRVING, Texas-- Jami Lobpries (Texas A&M) and teammate Megan Gibson have been named the Big 12 Player and Pitcher of the Week for games of April 7-14, the conference announced. Gibson is receiving her ninth career accolade and sixth this season, while this is the first honor for Lobpries.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lobpries led the Aggies at the plate last week, going 5-for-9 in three victories, including a two-game sweep of No. 7 Oklahoma. Against the Sooners, Lobpries was responsible for the game-winning RBI double in both Saturday's 4-2 victory and Sunday's 1-0 win. The senior also recorded a double in A&M's 3-1 mid-week tally over Texas. The Wharton, Texas native raised her batting average 29 points over the week from .223 to .252 and stretched her hitting streak to six games.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Megan Gibson, Texas A&M, 1B/P, Sr., Spring, Texas/Spring
Gibson recorded all three of the Aggies' wins last week, tossing 21-complete innings and recording her 23rd, 24th and 25th consecutive victories this season. The senior struck out 30 in three games, including 18 Sooner hitters in the Aggies' 4-2 and 1-0 wins over No. 7 Oklahoma. Gibson also earned her 11th shutout of the year in A&M's 1-0 victory on Sunday. Against the Longhorns on Wednesday, the senior scattered three hits and struck out 12, while not allowing a free pass. For the 18th straight game, Gibson kept her ERA under one, currently posting a Big 12-best 0.94 mark. She has won 26 straight games dating back to May 20, 2007, placing her tied for ninth in the NCAA record book for consecutive victories.
