IRVING, Texas -- Megan Gibson (Texas A&M) has been selected as one of the top 10 finalists for the seventh annual USA Softball National Player of the Year Award, announced by the American Softball Association.

Gibson has posted a 30-1 record with a 1.08 ERA in the circle for the fifth-ranked Aggies, which ranks second in the Big 12. In 208 innings of work, Gibson has fanned 241 batters. The Spring, Texas native has earned six Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors thus far this season and is batting a .358 clip with a team-leading 45 RBI and 13 homeruns.

The 10 finalists for the honor consist of five seniors, three juniors, one sophomore and one freshman. Six conferences are represented on the list.

The list will be narrowed to three on May 21. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, May 27 at ASA Hall Of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City during the Women's College World Series.
