BOSTON - Freshman John Holland (Bronx, N.Y.) poured in a career-best and America East season-high 38 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Boston University's 97-66 win over Hartford last Wednesday to earn goterriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week recognition.

Holland received America East Rookie of the Week distinction this week after shooting 14-for-22 (.636) from the floor against the Hawks. He scored 19 of BU's 49 first-half points, including the Terriers' first 10 points. Holland combined with Corey Lowe and Carlos Strong to total 75 of BU's 97 points, canning a career-high tying four 3-pointers.

Against Albany on Sunday, Holland scored nine points, grabbed six rebounds and made a pair of steals. He shot 17-for-35 from the floor (.486) to average 23.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg last week.

The Terriers (13-16) play Albany in the opening round of the America East conference tournament on March 8 at 8:30 p.m. in Vestal, N.Y.
