Athletic Director Mike Lynch Enshrined in Rollins Sports Hall of Fame
March 31, 2008 WINTER PARK, Fla. - Boston University Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Mike Lynch was one of six inductees into the Rollins Sports Hall of Fame during a breakfast Saturday as part of Rollins Reunion Weekend 2008. A 1990 graduate, Lynch was the pitcher of record in legendary baseball coach Boyd Coffie's 500th career victory to highlight an illustrious career at Harper-Shepherd Field. He was an ABCA All-South Region selection in three seasons and ABCA All-American in 1990. Lynch led the Tars to the 1989 and 1990 NCAA South Region Tournaments and to the 1989 College World Series. He is currently fifth in wins, second in innings pitched and second in strikeouts in the Rollins all-time record book. After Rollins, he played professionally in the Brewers, Red Sox and Cubs organizations before beginning his career in athletic administration. The Rollins Sports Hall of Fame, which now has more than 150 members, was started in 1997 and is now maintained by the Tar Boosters and the Rollins Alumni Association. Other honorees in the class of 2008 were men's soccer player Keith Buckley '88, volleyball player Falecia Douglas Williams '91, basketball player Daniel Parke '97, athletic trainer Charlie Urban and waterski coach Paul Harris '45.
