Feb. 4, 2008 BOSTON - The Boston University men's basketball team will play at St. Peter's on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. in an additional non-conference game, the athletic department announced today. The Terriers, along with Binghamton, Vermont and Albany, were a part of the O'Reilly/ESPN Bracketbusters Pool. This year was the first time BU was chosen for the Bracketbusters pool. A total of 100 teams will compete in the 50-game, two-day event. As part of the tournament agreement, the Peacocks will come to Boston to play in a return game next season. Boston University leads the all-time series, 3-2. The rivalry began on Feb. 20, 1974 with a 113-108 St. Peter's win. In the teams' last meeting, the Terriers defeated the Peacocks at home, 70-58, on Nov. 25, 2001. St. Peter's is 5-17 overall and 2-10 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) this season. A 78-68 win over Manhattan College on Feb. 3 snapped an eight-game losing streak for the Peacocks. Senior forward Todd Sowell is St. Peter's leading scorer, averaging 12.7 ppg and the team's leading rebounder with 10.6 rpg.
