BOSTON - The Boston University men's basketball team looks to extend its win streak to six games when the Terriers (10-14, 7-5 America East) travel to UMBC to play the league-leading Retrievers (17-7, 9-2 AE) on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. The game will be televised on MASN and locally in Boston on WSBK TV-38.

Boston U holds a 9-4 all-time lead in the series. The Terriers won seven of the first eight games, but the teams have been nearly even over the last five; UMBC leads, 3-2, in those games. BU and UMBC split last season, with each team defending its home court.

UMBC continues to be ranked among the best in the nation in several statistical categories. The Retrievers lead the country in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.61), are second in turnovers per game (9.5) and stand 33rd in the country in 3-point field goal percentage (39.5 pct.). Point guard Jay Greene is tops in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.36) and fifth in assists per game (7.0). Brian Hodges' 16.5 ppg lead UMBC, while Darryl Proctor grabs a team-best 8.7 boards per game.

Sophomore guard Corey Lowe (Newton, Mass.) leads the Terrier offense with 17.8 ppg. Carlos Strong (Portland, Maine) posts 11.1 ppg to be the second BU player in double figures, while Brittain is the team's leading rebounder with 6.0 rpg. Strong has missed the last two games with a knee injury. Reigning America East Rookie of the Week John Holland (Bronx, N.Y.) has picked up his play during the conference season and averages 13.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg in league games

In their last time out, the Terriers avenged an earlier conference loss by defeating Vermont 59-58 on Feb. 14. Brittain led the charge for BU with 16 points and five rebounds. Lowe had 13 points and five boards, and Holland added 12 points and a team-best six rebounds. Vermont's Marqus Blakely scored 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. BU held Vermont scoreless for nearly six minutes at the start of the second half and limited the Catamounts to 2-for-11 shooting during that span to build as many as a 14-point lead midway through the final period. But UVM scrapped and nearly came all the way back as the Catamounts watched their last-second shot bounce off the rim.

BU returns home to host Maine on Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. in Case Gym. The game will be shown on NESN.
