Men's Ice Hockey to Host UMass Lowell in Hockey East Quarterfinals; Series Opener on NESN

BOSTON - The Boston University men's ice hockey team will host UMass Lowell in a best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series beginning on Friday, March 14, at Agganis Arena. The series opener will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live by NESN. The games on Saturday and Sunday (if necessary) will begin at 7 p.m.

The second-seeded Terriers won two of their three match-ups with the seventh-seeded River Hawks this season, including a 6-2 road win in their most recent meeting on Feb. 8.

The other three match-ups in the league quarterfinals are: No. 1 New Hampshire vs. No. 8 Massachusetts, No. 3 Vermont vs. No. 6 Northeastern and No. 4 Boston College vs. No. 5 Providence.

The winner of each quarterfinal series will advance to the TD Banknorth Garden for the 24th annual Hockey East Championship on Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22. The semifinals will be played Friday at 5 and 8 p.m. and the title game will be played on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
