WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After helping the Boston University men's ice hockey team sweep a home-and-home series with Providience to secure second place in the league standings, senior forward Pete MacArthur (Clifton Park, N.Y.) has been named the CCM/RBK Hockey East Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

MacArthur recorded a natural hat trick in a 6-0 road shutout against the Friars on Thursday, scoring the game's first three goals. He did not waste much time in earning his second career hat trick, as his third goal came at 4:22 of the second period.

His three-goal performance raised his team-leading point total to 40 - setting a new career high - and also helped him move into the top 25 on BU's all-time scoring list with 142 career points.

This is the second time MacArthur has earned the weekly honor during his career, as he also collected the accolade on March 6, 2006.

MacArthur and the Terriers will return to action on Friday (March 14) when they open a best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series with seventh-seeded UMass Lowell. The game will be broadcast live by NESN beginning at 7:30 p.m.
