Men's Tennis Opens Spring Season with a 6-1 Victory

BOSTON - The Boston University men's tennis team (3-1) opened its spring season with an impressive 6-1 victory over Sacred Heart University on Friday, Feb. 1 at the Track and Tennis Center. Senior Giulio Gallarotti (Higganum, Conn.) began the day with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 1 singles position. In second singles, sophomore Jeff Chudacoff (Highland, Ill.) posted a 6-3, 6-2 over SHU's Jinal Shah. Miron Nissim (Milan, Italy), Hans Sapra (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Daniel Frid (Dallas, Texas) each defeated their opponents in straight sets to give BU the victory. In doubles play, BU swept all three matches without surrendering more than three games. The Terriers' lone defeat came in third singles, where junior Charles Weinstein (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was leading SHU's Nick Mazzarese before retiring with an injury.
