Men's Tennis Set to Compete at America East Championship this Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Boston University men's tennis team is set to compete in the 2008 America East men's tennis championship from April 25-27 on Yale's campus in New Haven, Conn. The Terriers are seeded fourth in the field for the tournament.

The Terriers have advanced to the title match 10 times in program history, claiming the league crown in 1996, 1994, 1993 and 1988. Last season BU finished fourth after being swept, 4-0, by No. 3 Stony Brook in the first round and falling, 4-1, to Binghamton in the third-place match.

BU will face No. 5 Hartford in the opening round on Friday, April 25 at 1 p.m. If the Terriers advance, they will face No. 1 Binghamton on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m.

Match 1 - Opening Round - #4 Boston University vs. #5 Hartford, 1 p.m.

Saturday, April 26

Match 2 -- Winner of Match 1 vs. #1 Binghamton, 11 a.m.

Match 3 -- #2 UMBC vs. #3 Stony Brook, 11 a.m.

Match 4 -- Loser of Match 2 vs. Loser Match 3, 3 p.m.

Sunday, April 27

Match 5 -- Winner of Match 2 vs. Winner of Match 3 (Championship), 11 a.m.*

*Championship match times are subject to change by the games committee if there is a team that has a dual coach.

**In the event of inclement weather, match times will be adjusted as needed.
