BOSTON -The Boston University women's basketball team cruised to a 66-39 victory over New Hampshire on Wednesday evening, backed by double-figure performances from senior Kasey Devine and junior Christine Kinneary with 14 and 12 points, respectively. A game-changing 20-0 run in the second half gave BU a commanding 22-point advantage, a lead it would not relinquish for the remainder of the game. Boston University improves to 15-11 overall and 8-5 in the America East, while New Hampshire falls to 6-20 overall and 3-9 in the conference.

Kinneary was 4-for-6 from the field, 3-for-3 from the free throw line, with five rebounds and eight assists to earn America East's Player of the Game honors, while Devine brought down a team-best eight rebounds to go along with 7-for-12 shooting. Devine also swatted a game-high four shots.

BU forced 18 Wildcat miscues and converted on 19 points off turnovers. The Terriers were also able to penetrate UNH's defense and scored 38 points in the paint, while holding the Wildcats to 10.

The Terriers' defense was solid, collecting eight steals and six blocks, while keeping New Hampshire scoreless for the nearly nine minutes in the second half. The game-changing 20-0 run in the second half stretched the BU lead from two to 22, 54-32, in nine minutes.

Boston University opened the game on an 8-0 spurt before UNH drew to within three, 10-7, at 13:35 on a layup by Danielle Flowers. New Hampshire took its only lead of the game two minutes later when Amy Simpson drained a 3-pointer to move the score to 14-12. BU quickly returned the favor with back-to-back layups to reclaim the lead.

The Wildcats would tie the game one final time with 5:40 left in the half; however, sophomore Aly Hinton's jumper at 5:12 put the Terriers on top for good. At the break, BU held a slim 30-26 advantage with Devine leading with eight points.

To start the second half, the Terriers and Wildcats traded baskets until BU began its sterling 20-0 run that changed the contest from a one-possession game to a commanding 22-point advantage. UNH broke the scoreless streak at 8:44 on two made free throws, but did not make another field goal until 5:38 when Candace Williams nailed a jumper to move the score to 62-37.

BU scored its last bucket on a 3-pointer and UNH closed it out with two made free throws with 38 seconds left to round out the scoring at 66-39.

BU will travel to Stony Brook on Saturday, March 1 for a 4:30 p.m. contest with the Seawolves.
