Hinton Earns AE Co-Player of the Week Honor


Sophomore Aly Hinton earned America East's Co-Player of the Week honors.

BOSTON - Sophomore Aly Hinton averaged 10.8 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game in two games last week to earn America East's Co-Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Monday. Hinton poured in 23 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in a come-from-behind win against UMBC and then followed it up with a 13-point performance against Vermont.

The Richboro, Pa., native shot 68.8 percent from the field and was 87.5 percent from the free throw line, converting on 14-for-16 attempts in two games. Against UMBC, Hinton hit eight of her 10 attempts from the field and was 7-for-9 from the charity stripe. In addition, she dished out two assists and earned two steals in 36 minutes of action.

Three days later she helped the Terriers leap into second place in the America East standings with an 83-73 victory over visiting Vermont. She was a perfect 7-for-7 at the line while posting 13 points.

The Terriers travel to Albany on Wednesday, Feb. 6 for a noon tip-off.
