Kinneary Finalist for 2008 AE Fans' Choice Player of the Year Honor

BOSTON - Boston University's Christine Kinneary has been voted one of three finalists for the 2008 America East Women's Basketball Fans' Choice Player of the Year award. She is joined on the ballot by Hartford's Danielle Hood and Vermont's Courtnay Pilypaitis. Voting will run through Tuesday, March 11 at noon. Fans can only vote once and multiple votes will be disqualified.

Kinneary has been a mainstay in the lineup for the Terriers all season, starting all 28 games, ranking fourth in the nation in assist/turnover ratio (2.54) and sixth in assists per game (7.0). In six of the last seven games, she has posted double-figure scoring, including a career-high 23 points vs. Binghamton on Feb. 13, and has averaged 15.4 points per game in those contests. In addition, she has dished out 195 assists in 2007-08, which is second in the BU record books.

BU is 17-11 overall and 10-5 in America East with one game remaining in the regular season. The Terriers return to Case Gym for the regular-season finale on Saturday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. vs. Albany.

Boston University's Katie Meinhardt was the inaugural women's basketball Fans' Choice Player of the Year in 2007. The 2008 award winner will be announced at AmericaEast.com on Wednesday, March 12 to kick off the 2008 America East Women's Basketball Championship that begins on March 13 in West Hartford, Conn.
