Seniors Sarah Shute and Pam Spuehler of the Boston University field hockey team have been selected to the USA 'B' Team for matches against squads from Japan and Canada next week in San Diego, Calif. Also, head coach Sally Starr recently received top-level coaching accreditation from the United States Field Hockey Association.

Shute and Spuehler will fly out to San Diego on Saturday (March 29) to join the 'B' team and will kick off the week-long series with games on Sunday (March 30). The senior duo helped the Terriers post an 18-6 record this past fall, as the team reached the NCAA quarterfinal round for the first time since 1991.

Starr was one of 18 coaches invited to the inaugural Level III accreditation course that was hosted by USFHA technical director Terry Walsh in Palm Springs, Calif. The comprehensive program includes four course levels ranging from developmental to elite levels.

"It was an honor to be among the invitees to the inaugural Level III accrediation course," said Starr. "It was a fantastic opportunity to learn and share knowledge with the very best hockey coaches in the country."
