Box Score

BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team skated to a 4-1 win over Boston College Saturday at Conte Forum behind a hat trick by sophomore Melissa Anderson and a third-period goal from junior Erin Seman. With the win, the Terriers move back into fourth place. It was also the first win for the program at Conte Forum, with an 0-4-0 record there in the past.

Anderson scored in each period, including a goal off the face-off in the third frame. It was Anderson's first career hat trick and only the second hat trick for the Terriers since the program became a varsity team. The first was by Seman on Feb. 27, 2007 against Northeastern

With 9:38 remaining the first period, Anderson put the Terriers ahead for the first time in over a week. Junior Amanda Shaw blasted a shot towards goal from the point, which was redirected by Anderson - who was screening the goaltender inside the crease - into the left side of the net.

The Eagles knotted the score with 8:55 remaining in the second period, as sophomore Kelli Stack pulled the puck across the crease and faked junior Allyse Wilcox down to the ice. Stack then lifted a shot over Wilcox and into goal to bring the score to 1-1.

BU regained the lead with 3:16 left in the third period while on the power play, as Anderson netted her second goal of the game. Senior Julie Poulin lifted a crossing pass from the point to junior co-captain Gina Kearns at the left post, who collected the puck and then forwarded it Anderson on the goaltender's glove side, just outside the crease. Anderson wristed a shot into goal to give the Terriers the advantage.

Anderson completed her hat trick with a score with 6:42 left in the game, winning the face off and then playing her own puck into goal off a deflection.

Seman earned a goal of her own off an assist from Anderson with 2:42 left in the third period. Anderson forwarded a pass to Seman on the left side of the ice just before crossing the blue line into the Eagles' zone. Seman skated towards goal and faked the goaltender right before slotting her shot left for the Terriers' final score of the day.

After dropping a 4-0 decision against the Eagles last night and falling back to fifth place, the Terriers regained the fourth spot in Hockey East. BU also won the season series, 2-1, and would win a tie-breaker should the two teams end the season with matching records.

Next weekend, the Terriers play a home-and-home series against Northeastern, with Saturday afternoon's game at Walter Brown Arena at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday's match-up at Matthews Arena at 2:00 p.m.
