B2 Networks to Webcast Women's Beanpot

BOSTON - The 30 Anniversary Women's Beanpot Tournament will be broadcast online by B2 Networks, as was announced by the tournament office and B2 Networks Tuesday. The first round of the tournament, which will be held at Walter Brown Arena at Boston University, will be broadcast on Feb. 5. On the opening day, Northeastern takes on Harvard at 5:00 p.m. and Boston University faces off against Boston College at 8:00 p.m. The championship game will be played at 8:00 p.m. on Feb. 12, with the consolation game preceding at 5:00 p.m. Passes to view individual games can be purchased for $7, while a tournament pass is available for $20. A high-speed internet connection is necessary to view the games online, as well as the current version of Windows Media Player. Purchases can be made at www.b2tv.com or www.beanpothockey.com. The Women's Beanpot tournament celebrates its 30th year, with the first round of play beginning on March 16, 1979. It has since become one of the finest showcases of talent in New England women's ice hockey, and indeed is one of the longest-running women's ice hockey tournaments in the nation. The tournament, which pits Boston-area teams against each other for city bragging rights, is composed of teams from Boston College, Boston University, Harvard and Northeastern.
