Women's Soccer Picks Up Two Wins at Beanpot Tournament
April 8, 2008
BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team hosted the Beanpot tournament at Nickerson Field over the weekend and left with a 2-0-1 record with wins over Northeastern, 2-0, and Harvard, 2-1, while playing to a scoreless draw against Boston College. In the opening game against the Huskies, sophomore Emily Pallotta and junior Jennifer Herman tallied goals, before the squad played to a 0-0 tie with the Eagles in the second game. In the final game of the afternoon, sophomore Casey Brown provided the heroics with the Terriers' two goals. Red-shirt freshman Janie Reilly played all three games in net over the weekend and despite being sidelined during the fall season with injury, she seamlessly slid into the starting role, allowing just one goal over three games. Reilly made a breakaway save against Northeastern when the score was 1-0 to maintain the shutout. Next up for BU is the Toyota Classic in Lancaster, Mass., on Sunday April 13. The Terriers will face URI at 9:00 a.m. before matching up with Syracuse at 1:00 p.m.
