BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team (3-5-1) will open its America East conference slate when it hosts Vermont (1-7-1) on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:00 p.m. The Terriers lead the all-time series with the Catamounts, 7-2-2, which includes last season's 0-0 draw in Burlington, Vt.

BU enters the contest following a 1-0 loss at Yale on Tuesday - its fourth loss of the season by a 1-0 margin. Last week, the Terriers opened with a 1-1 tie with Minnesota. BU fought back from an early deficit to pull out the tie with the Big Ten school. Sophomore Farrell McClernon (West Chester, Pa.) netted the game-tying goal and red-shirt freshman Janie Reilly (Coral Springs, Fla.) made six saves to uphold the draw.

Reilly, the reigning Co-Rookie of the Week, made 13 saves in two starts last week as she continued to be steady in net for the Terriers. She is ranked 14th in the nation in save percentage and 16th in goals against average (GAA). Her 0.48 GAA is tops in the conference as is her save percentage (.906), while her three shutouts are second only to Stony Brook's Marisa Viola with five.

The Catamounts completed their non-conference schedule with a 3-1 loss to Massachusetts on Saturday. Vermont struck first, but the Minutewomen tallied three unanswered goals to earn the come-from-behind win. The Catamounts opened their season with a 1-0 win over Central Arkansas, but they have dropped seven of their last eight games. During that eight-game span they recorded one tie - a 1-1 draw with St. Mary's (Calif.). Freshman Jessica Becker leads Vermont with three goals for six points, and she has taken 26 shots in nine games. Sophomore Eliza Bradley has played every minute in goal and has earned a 2.06 GAA and .791 save percentage.

Following today's game the Terriers will travel to Albany, N.Y. for a 3:00 p.m. contest with Albany at Varsity Field. BU has won all six matches with Albany in the series history.
