Oct. 11, 2007
BOSTON - In a match up of two undefeated teams in America East conference play, the Boston University women's soccer team (5-5-2, 2-0-0 AE) will head to Orono, Maine to face the Black Bears (4-4-2, 2-0-0 AE) on Thursday afternoon. Kick off is set for 3:00 p.m. BU and Maine have played a tightly contested all-time series with four ties in the past four seasons, however, the Terriers hold the advantage in the all-time series, 8-3-4. BU has gone unbeaten in its past three games, which includes its two conference wins and its 1-1 tie with Dartmouth on Monday and while its offense has recently surged, BU's defense has been consistent all season. Sophomore Casey Brown (Natick, Mass.) has anchored the defense in the middle and has also provided the offensive power. Laura Martel leads the offense with four goals, while Jasmine Phillips has been the goalie of record, seeing action in 10 games. Phillips has earned a 0.67 GAA and .868 save percentage.
