Women's Soccer Travels to Stony Brook for 1:00 p.m. Contest

BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team will look to rebound after its first conference loss of the season at Stony Brook on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1:00 p.m. The Terriers enter the match with a 7-6-2 overall record and 4-1-0 America East mark, while the Seawolves are 7-2-5 overall and 4-0-2 in the conference.

BU dropped its first conference match to Hartford on Thursday evening at Nickerson Field. The Hawks scored the game-winning goal in the 56th minute and held on as the Terriers mounted offensive pressure through the final 34 minutes. Sophomore Farrell McClernon (West Chester, Pa.) provided BU with its best scoring opportunity on a low, hard shot that went just wide of the net late in the first stanza.

The Terriers' offense has come alive in conference action, outscoring their opponents 10-2, with junior Marisha Schumacher-Hodge (Pittsburgh, Pa.) leading the charge with two goals and five assists for nine points. Senior Christina Reuter has gotten the nod in nine games and recorded a 0.77 goals-against average. In addition, Reuter is ranked 32nd in the nation in save percentage (.854).

Stony Brook is unbeaten in league action with wins over Vermont, UNH and Albany. Most recently, the Seawoles tied Binghamton, 1-1, on Oct. 18. Trine Allenberg leads the offense with two goals and four assists, followed closely by Danielle Tenaglia with three goals and one assist. Marisa Viola has played in all 1373:16 minutes between the pipes, earning a 0.46 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

Following Sunday's game the Terriers will travel north to Durham, N.H. to face UNH on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 2:30 p.m.
