Providence, RI - Freshman Robert Gillett's 78-yard interception return for a touchdown was the only score of the game as the Brown team defeated the White team, 7-0, in the annual Brown Spring Game played at the Berylson Family Fields. With the White Team driving, Gillett stepped in front of a White Team pass at the 28-yard line and raced down the sideline for the game's only score. Freshman Del Thomas booted the extra point to provide the 7-0 margin of victory. Brown fans came into the game expecting to see Brown's high-powered offense. Instead, both the Brown and White defense dominated play. Neither team's offense was able to get inside the 30-yard line of the opposition.
