ALBANY, NY - Brown University senior captain Sean Hurley (Rutland, VT) has been named to the pre-season All-League Team by both the coaches and the media. A unanimous selection to both teams, Hurley will look to lead the Bears, picked to finish 11th by both the coaches and the media, to a finish in the upper half of the League. Named an Assistant Captain towards the end of this past season, Hurley has played in 95 career games during the past three seasons, earning 60 points (19g, 41a). A Second Team All-ECAC Hockey and First Team All-Ivy selection last year, he finished the 2006-2007 season second on the team in scoring with 24 points (10g, 14a) and shared the team lead with seven power-play goals, while leading the team with 16 power-play points. A vital part of both the power-play and penalty-kill, Hurley has etched his name into the Brown record books for two scoring categories among defensemen, including season goals by a defenseman (9th) and career goals by a defenseman (8th). In addition, he needs just five more points to enter the top-10 for career points by a defenseman and two more assists to move into the top-10 for career assists by a defenseman.
