PROVIDENCE, RI - Having won each of the past three matches against Virginia Tech, the Bears were hoping to pick up their first victory over a team in the top 40 this season when #75 Brown (4-3) hosted the Hokies on Saturday afternoon. However, the 37th-ranked Virginia Tech squad was too much for the Bears to handle, as the Hokies picked up a 5-2 win, narrowly claiming the doubles point and then wins at #1, #4, #5, and #6 singles. Brown was led by freshman Jonathan Pearlman (New York, NY), who won at #3 singles and also teamed with senior Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) for a win at #2 doubles. Junior Chris Lee (Sudbury, MA) picked up Brown's other win, defeating #82 Nicolas Delgado de Robles in straight sets.
