Bucknell Men's Tennis Closes Out Weekend With 6-1 Win Over Boston University

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over Boston University on Saturday afternoon, to finish a weekend on the road. The Bison opened the weekend Friday night with a 7-0 loss against Brown. After this weekend's matches, the Orange and Blue move to 3-3 on the season.

At No. 1 doubles, senior Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper School) and junior Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) fell to Jeff Chudacoff and James Bernstein of Boston University, 8-5. The Bison had wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions however, to pick up the doubles point. At No. 2 doubles, junior Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade) and freshman Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy (Mass.)) defeated Phil DeMeo and Miron Nissim 8-3, while freshman Mark Malloy (Bronxville, N.Y./Hackley School) and senior Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) went 9-7 over Giulio Galloratti and Daniel Frid.

In singles play, Reibeisen won his match 6-2, 6-7 and 7-5 in the tie breaker, against Galloratti at the No. 1 position, while Sandburg fell, 6-4, 7-6 to Chudacoff at No. 2. Sophomore Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) played at the No. 3 position, picking up a win over Nissim (6-0, 6-1). Brenner topped Bernstein, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1, at No. 4, Kovic went 6-1, 6-2 over Hans Sapra at No. 5 and rounding out doubles play, Malloy defeated Frid, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

The Bison are now set to return home in a dual against Fairleigh Dickinson on March 18, at 3 p.m.
