LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's track and field team closed out the second day of the 2008 Patriot League Indoor Championships on Saturday afternoon. After two days of competition, Navy leads the way with 63.5 points with Bucknell in second (47 points). Army follows in third (45) ahead of fourth-place American (11), fifth-place Colgate (7.5), sixth-place Lehigh (7), seventh-place Lafayette (4) and eighth-place Holy Cross (1).

Junior Kevin Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) set a new school record in the prelim for the 60-meter hurdles. He ran a time of 8.30 seconds to finish third and top his career-best time of 8.34, set earlier this season. MacLeod will run in the final for the event on Sunday, along with sophomore Andrew Yehl (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown), who placed seventh in the prelim with a time of 8.45.

Tying the school record in the semifinal for the 60-meter dash was sophomore A.J. Kizekai (Pawtucket, R.I./Blair Academy (N.J.)). He ran a time of 7.01 and finished fifth to qualify for the final on Sunday. Sophomore Rashod Bumpers (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright) ran the third-fastest time in Bucknell history, 7.08, in the semifinal of the 60-meter dash to place 10th while sophomore Jason Davis (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) placed 14th in the semifinal (7.14) after running the fourth-fastest time in program history in the prelim (7.11).

Freshmen Nicholas Hruch (Sykesville, Md./Liberty) and Drew Fitzgerald (Ballston Spa, Pa./Ballston Spa) tied for first place in the high jump. Both posted IC4A-qualifying heights of 6-8 ¼, to tie Hruch's sixth-best all-time mark for Bucknell, set earlier this season. Also scoring in the event was junior Ryan Robinson (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg), who placed fourth with a mark of 6-4 ¼.

Junior Kerry Boyle (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) led the way in the prelim for the 200-meter dash winning the event with a season-best time of 22.38, to qualify for the final on Sunday. MacLeod also advanced to the final; he finished fourth in the prelim with a time of 22.65.

At the conclusion of the men's heptathlon, which started on Friday with the first four events, sophomore Ryan White (Elkins Park, Pa./Father Judge) finished in third with an IC4A standard and personal record of 4,953 to score for the Bison. In the final three events on Saturday, White finished third in the heptathlon 60-meter hurdles (8.57; 843; season best), second in the heptathlon pole vault (13-7 ¾; 662) and tied for fifth in the heptathlon 1,000-meter run (2:57.05; 693; season best). Sophomore Thomas Vogler (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) also notched a personal record in the heptathlon to finish seventh overall with a point total of 4,295.

Senior James Meyer (Pac. Palisades, Calif./Pacific Palisades) placed third in the weight throw to score for Bucknell with an IC4A-qualifying and career-best distance of 56-1. His mark is the sixth-best on Bucknell's all-time list for the event. Also scoring in the event was sophomore Timothy Medlock (Evan Mills, N.Y./Indian River). He posted a career-best throw of 52-8 ¾ to follow Meyer in fourth place.

In the 5,000-meter run, senior Wallace Campbell (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Acad.) took third with an IC4A-qualifying and season-best time. He finished in 14:39.82 to score in the event.

Sophomore Kyle Anthony (Barryville, N.Y./Eldred Central) picked up points for the Orange and Blue in the long jump with a sixth-place finish and distance of 22-3 ¾. Bucknell's 4x800 relay team of sophomore Kyle Ramer (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield), senior Brian Mooney (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili), freshman John Picardo (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton Central) and sophomore Baron Willeford (New Orleans, La./Columbia Prep (N.Y.)) took fifth place with a season-best time of 7:40.06.

The 2008 Patriot League Championships will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 24, with field events starting at 10 a.m. and finals for running events set to begin at 12 p.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m.
