NORFOLK, Va. - The Bucknell wrestling squad closed out its weekend trip to Virginia with a 30-6 setback against No. 22 Old Dominion on Sunday afternoon. Following the loss, Bison are now 7-8-1 on the season, while the Monarchs improve to 13-3 on the year.

Bucknell's two wins came at 157 and 174 as sophomore Brantley Hooks (Spartanburg, S.C./James F. Byrnes) defeated Dan Rivera, 7-3, in the 157-pound bout and his classmate, Shane Riccio (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills), posted a 4-2 victory over Nick Pullano at 174. Riccio has now won 10 straight duals matches and is currently 11-1 in duals on the year.

Three more Bison came up just short in their matches: sophomore Andy Rendos (Brockway, Pa./Brockway Area), ranked No. 19 in the latest InterMat/NWCA/NWMA Division I Individual Rankings at 165, lost in the sudden victory period, 5-3, to No. 20 Chris Brown; sophomore heavyweight George Hingson (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) fell, 3-2, in a tiebreaker to Andy Totusek; and freshman 149-pounder Kevin LeValley (Hugo, Colo./Limon) dropped a 5-3 decision to Kaylen Baxter.

Sophomore Greg Hart (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) and Luke Chohany (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) both faced ranked opponents and lost by major decision -- Hart to No. 12 James Nicholson by an 11-3 margin at 125, and Chohany against No. 17 Ryan Williams, 11-1, at 141.

In the 133 pound-bout, sophomore David Marble (Harpursville, N.Y./Harpursville Central), ranked No. 15 nationally, was upset by Kyle Hutter via pin in 5:38.

Freshman David Thompson (West Liberty, Ohio/Graham Local) suffered a 7-0 setback to Jesse Strawn at 184 and Bison freshman 197-pounder Jay Hahn (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) dropped a 13-3 major decision to David Mendoza.

Bucknell will be back on the mats next Friday, Feb. 1, when the squad will travel to New York, N.Y., to face Columbia in an EIWA dual beginning at 7 p.m.
