Bulldogs Come Up Short To Xavier

Cincinnati, Ohio - Butler swam to a number of personal and season-best times at Xavier on Saturday (Feb. 2), but the Bulldogs finished on the short end of the head-to-head competition with the Musketeers, falling 54-39. Sophomore Anna Taylor notched a season-best time of 12:24.53 in the 1,000 freestyle and topped her season-fast mark in the 200 butterfly with a 2:42.06, while freshman Maria Keyler added a strong showing in the 1,000 free, swimming the trip in 12:56.52. Junior Katie Krueger swam to a 2:11.99 in the 200 freestyle, and sophomore Kendall Wormley posted a season-best mark in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:33.82. The 200 medley relay team of junior Sarah Lynne Gates, Weston, senior Elizabeth Shafer and Krueger swam to a season-best time of 1:59.55. The Bulldogs close out the regular season in Indianapolis on Wednesday (Feb. 6) when they take on cross-town rival IUPUI beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the IUPUI Natatorium.
