Swimming Closes Regular Season At IUPUI On Wednesday

The Butler swimming team closes out the 2007-08 regular season on Wednesday (Feb. 6) when it heads downtown to take on IUPUI beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the IUPUI Natatorium. Wednesday's meet will be the second competition in just five days for the Bulldogs after taking on Xavier on Saturday (Feb. 2). Sophomore Anna Taylor had one of her finest outings of the year against the Musketeers, notching a season-best time of 12:24.53 in the 1,000 freestyle and topping her season-fast mark in the 200 butterfly with a 2:42.06. Additionally, the 200 medley relay team of junior Sarah Lynne Gates, freshman Leigh Weston, senior Elizabeth Shafer and junior Katie Krueger swam to a season-best time of 1:59.55. Following the meet on Wednesday, the Bulldogs will have nearly two weeks to prepare for the Horizon League Championships, which begin on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland.
