No. 17 Kentucky Takes Two From Butler

March 1, 2008

Game One Box Score | Game Two Box Score

Lexington, Ky. - The Butler pitching staff was unable to solve the No. 17 Kentucky offense on Saturday (March 1), as the Bulldogs dropped both games of a double-header, 14-0 and 21-2, at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

Butler was only able to produce three hits in the opening contest, as the game remained relatively close until the late innings before an eight-run eighth frame put the game out of reach. Kyle Schultz doubled for the Bulldogs in the defeat.

The night-cap yielded more of the same, as big innings by the Wildcats gave Butler more than it could handle. Ryan Neat provided the Bulldogs only offense of the game, hitting a solo home run in the fifth - the first of the season for Butler - before doubling in another run in the seventh.

The Bulldogs close out the season-opening four-game set on Sunday (March 2) when they battle Kentucky beginning at 1:00 p.m.
