Raynauld Earns Second League Weekly Honor

March 25, 2008

Indianapolis, Ind. - After a posting perfect record in two matches last week, Butler sophomore Ben Raynauld was named the Horizon League's Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Tuesday (March 25).

Raynauld went undefeated in two matches on Friday (March 21), going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles against IPFW and IUPUI. He teamed with Bryce Warren at No. 2 doubles for an 8-5 win against the Mastodons before scoring a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.

Less than an hour later, he and Brandon Bayliss notched an 8-2 No. 2 doubles victory over the Jaguars and added a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 singles.

Raynauld receives the honor for the second time this spring after being named player of the week on Feb. 27. It is also the fifth time this season that a Bulldog has been recognized, with senior Eric Breitenbach (Feb. 13), freshman women's player Natali Jaimes (Feb. 20) and Bayliss (March 4) also earning the honor.

Butler returns to action on Wednesday (March 26) when they take on host Dayton beginning at 2:00 p.m.
