Bulldogs Sweep Past Penguins, 7-0

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Butler women's tennis team continued its dominance of Horizon League competition on Sunday (Feb. 24), as the Bulldogs notched its third league victory and second sweep of the season with a 7-0 decision over Youngstown State at the Butler Bubble.

After claiming all three doubles matches to score the first point of the day, the Bulldogs reeled off six two-set singles victories, including a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 6 by Michelle Hawes.

Natali Jaimes, Becky Jenkins and Tiffany McLoughlin each tallied their team-best fifth dual meet singles wins of the year in the match. Jaimes worked a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2, Jenkins held on for a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win at No. 4 and McLoughlin scored a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5.

Molly Casperson added her fourth dual win of the year and third at the No. 1 position with a 6-4, 6-1 win, while Gabriella Bobrowski added her third with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3.

The Bulldogs close out their three-match homestand on Friday (Feb. 29) when they host cross-town foe Indianapolis at 7:00 p.m.
