Natali Jaimes Named League Player Of The Week

Feb. 20, 2008

Indianapolis, Ind. - After going undefeated in singles play and adding a pair of doubles victories, Butler women's tennis player Natali Jaimes was named the Horizon League's Women's Tennis Player of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday (Feb. 20).

Jaimes helped the Bulldogs to victories in their first two Horizon League matches of the spring last weekend, going 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles play.

She was one of only two winners in singles competition against Xavier on Feb. 13, scoring a decisive 6-3, 6-1 win over Aylin Seyalioglu at the No. 3 position. She then notched a pair of two-set victories at No. 2 singles against both Green Bay and Milwaukee.

Jaimes also teamed up with freshman Gabriella Bobrowski for No. 1 doubles wins against both the Phoenix and the Panthers.

Jaimes is the second Bulldog to earn the league's weekly honor this season. Senior men's player Eric Breitenbach received the recognition last week (Feb. 13).

The Butler women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 23) when it hosts Toledo beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Butler Bubble.
