Click here for the Final Results At the J.Fred Duckett Rice Twilight Meet, head coach Jon Warren's Owls turned in some great times and marks during a busy last week of classes in heading towards the Conference USA outdoor championship in El Paso, Texas. "I thought that we had a very good meet and competed really well," said Warren. "We had solid performances throughout the day and with the Conference USA championship coming up in three weeks I certainly like the direction that we are taking." Senior Devon Fanfair became and NCAA qualifier in the triple jump with a mark of 49-07.75 (15.13m) to placed third. Ugo Nduaguba placed second in the triple jump at 49-09.25 (15.17m. The Rice 4x400m relay team posted its best time of the outdoor season with a winning time of 3:18.05 and in the 800m Jacob Owolabi, posted his best time of the season at 1:53.84 with a sixth place finish. In other field event action, Clay Baker threw a season best in the shot put at 15.96m and Joe Agnew threw the javelin 54.09m for one of Rice's top marks in the outdoor season. Also, Jason Colwick tied for first in the pole vault at 5.20m with Chris Steddum who competed unattached. Rice's Omar Wright and Gregory Roberts tied for first in the high jump at 2.10m.
