PHILADELPHIA, Penn. - Sophomore Andrea Jackson placed her name in the Marshall University record book by hitting a school best 12.71m in the triple jump at the Penn Relays.

Jackson's jump beat out teammate senior Teniqua Sutton, who set her record jump of 12.70m just weeks ago at the Duke Invitational. Sutton placed 10th with a leap of 12.11m.

Aside from the outdoor record, Jackson also owns the school triple jump indoor record. She set that mark during the indoor season with a mark of 39 feet 11 and ½ inches at the New Balance Invitational.

Senior Rachel Blankenship finished in second place in the shot put with a throw of 14.26m.

Rounding out Thundering Herd top ten finishes, senior Britani Keeney took 10th in the hammer throw championship with a throw of 50.09m. Keeney's throw is the best measurement for Marshall this season.

Women's track will have one more stop before Conference USA Championships, as they travel to compete in the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State May 2-3.
