IRVING, Texas - Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the week are Chris Carter of Houston and Charlotte Abrahamsen of Memphis. Both provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in March. Carter did so in the triple jump with a mark of 15.41 meters, while Abrahamsen scored 3.858 points in the pentathlon.

MALE
CHRIS CARTER, HOUSTON
Freshman, Triple Jump, Hearne, Texas
Carter earned an NCAA provisional mark in the triple jump at the Razorback Invitational. The freshman jumped 15.41 meters (50-06.75) to earned fifth place in the event. That mark is currently the best jump in Conference USA.

FEMALE
CHARLOTTE ABRAHAMSEN, MEMPHIS
Freshman, Pentathlon, High Jump & Shot Put, Sande, Norway
Abrahamsen won the women's pentathlon at the Arkansas State Invitational in Jonesboro, ArK. Her point total of 3,858 was an NCAA provisional mark and a new school record and ranks her at third in the nation. She also went on to place third in both the high jump and shot put the following day. Abrahamsen jumped 1.63 meters (5-04.25) in the high jump and threw 14.34 meters (47-00.75) in the shot. She ranks second and third, respectively, in Conference USA in both events.
