IRVING, Texas - Zach Sucher of UAB and David Johnson of UCF share the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week honor for their performances to begin the spring season. Sucher captured medalist honors at the SunTrust Gator Invitational shooting a seven-under 203 and followed that up with a 16th-place tie at the John Hayt Invitational. Johnson, also playing against the strong field at the Hayt Invitational, carded a one-under 71 on the final day to finish at 218 and a in a tie for ninth. East Carolina's Abby Bools is the Women's Golfer of the Week. Bools captured her second individual title of the season and of her career after carding a personal-best 54-hole score of 218 (2-over par) at the Qdoba Invitational.

Sucher led UAB to impressive finishes to open the spring season. Last week, the native of Mobile closed the SunTrust Gator Invitational with a seven-under 203 (68-67-68) to capture co-medalist honors. He led the Blazers to a fourth-place finish at the prestigious event. Sucher's win marked the second victory of his career and the first of the 2007-08 season. The junior's 203 tied his career-low 54-hole mark. Sucher also led UAB this past weekend at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., as he tied for 16th overall with a five-over par 221. His efforts helped the Blazers defeat four teams ranked ahead of them in the latest national poll. This is Sucher's third career weekly honor, his first in 2007-08.

Competing at an event that featured 10 squads ranked in the top-30 nationally according to Golfstat, Johnson tied for ninth at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. The junior carded a one-under 71 on the final day of play to finish at 218 (+2). In the second round of the three-day tournament, he posted an even-par 72. The event, which was played at the Sawgrass Country Club, included three teams that are ranked in the top-five nationally. The tournament was the first of the spring for Johnson and the Knights. This is Johnson's first career weekly honor.

Bools captured her second individual title of the season and of her career after carding a personal-best 54-hole score of 218 (2-over par) at the Qdoba Invitational Tuesday afternoon in Miami, Fla. She helped the Pirates (70-14-0), who are nationally-ranked No. 22, to their fourth consecutive team title and fifth in six events in 2007-08. The Pirates led their third consecutive event wire-to-wire. Bools tied for the tournament lead in par-4 scoring (+1), while ranking among the leaders in par-3 scoring (+1), par-5 scoring (E) and total pars (41). With her win, she becomes the third Lady Pirate golfer to claim two titles in the same season. In 16 career tournaments, she has a 76.43 stroke average with seven top-10 finishes and 10 top-20's.The weekly honor is the third of Bools' career, her second in 2007-08 (Sept. 26).
