IRVING, Texas - Rice's Bruno Rose is the Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week after leading Rice to a 3-0 week that included home victories over Lamar, Arizona and No. 24 Miami. The Brazilian picked up a pair of impressive straight-set wins over No. 37 Claudio Christen (Arizona) and No. 7 Daniel Vallverdu (Miami) to push his undefeated streak to 13-straight matches. SMU's Natalia Bubien is the C-USA Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Bubien is undefeated in singles play, notching a perfect 5-0 record this season. Last weekend, she topped her second nationally-ranked opponentm in No. 70 Iryna Tkachenko of Oklahoma State.

BRUNO ROSA - Rice

Rosa led Rice to a 3-0 week that included home victories over Lamar, Arizona and No. 24 Miami. The Brazilian anchored the top of the lineup and picked up a pair of impressive straight-set wins over No. 37 Claudio Christen (Arizona) and No. 7 Daniel Vallverdu (Miami) to push his undefeated streak to 13-straight matches to start the spring season. Rosa paired with Tobias Scheil and won a two doubles matches at the No. 3 spot. Their only setback came to No. 18 Rosenfeld/Subramanian in the No. 2 spot. The weekly award is Rosa's second of his career, he also earend the honor on Jan. 23, 2008.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (2/12)
NATALIA BUBIEN - SMU
Jr., Warsaw, Poland (Jana Kochanonskiego)

Bubien remains undefeated in singles play at the No. 1 spot, notching a perfect 5-0 record this season. Saturday, Bubien topped her second nationally-ranked opponent of the season, defeating No. 70 Iryna Tkachenko of Oklahoma State, 6-1, 6-7 (8), 6-2. Bubien split in doubles over the weekend, falling to Allen/Shatkovskaya of OSU 6-6, but defeating Brownfield/Matlock of UT-Dallas, 8-0. On the year, the native of Warsaw, Poland, is 4-2 playing at the No. 1 doubles spot. This is Bubien's second career weekly honor, her first in 2007-08.
