IRVING, Texas - SMU's David Kuczer is this week's Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week after going undefeated last weekend against No. 32 Virginia Tech and No. 21 VCU at the No. 2 singles and doubles line. Kuczer is now 9-2 on the season and on a seven-match singles win streak. Alexandra Kichoutkin of Tulsa is the women's tennis Player of the Week after she moved to 12-2 with wins at the No. 1 singles spot against Middle Tennessee State and No. 47 Wichita State.

MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (3/4)
DAVID KUCZER - SMU

Kuczer went undefeated last weekend, playing at No. 32 Virginia Tech and No. 21 VCU. Against Va. Tech, Kuczer notched a straight-set win over Nicolas Delgado de Robles at No. 2, taking the match 6-3, 6-4. In doubles, he paired with Adolfo Solares at No. 2 to defeat Brandon Corace and Albert Larregola, 8-4, helping the Mustangs win the doubles point. At VCU, Kuczer dropped the first set to Damien Lacombe, 6-2, but overcame his slow start to take the next two sets, 7-5, 6-4. In doubles, he paired with Adham el-Effendi at No. 2 to defeat 48th-ranked Thibaut Charron and Martin Schulhauser, 8-5, to again help the Mustangs win the doubles point, and nearly upset the Rams. With the wins, Kuczer is now 9-2 on the season and on a seven-match singles win streak and a five-match doubles win streak. The C-USA weekly honor is the first of Kuczer's career.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (3/4)
ALEXANDRA KICHOUTKIN - Tulsa

Kichoutkin moved to 12-2 for the No. 38-ranked Golden Hurricane after winning both of her singles matches this weekend in Wichita, Kan. Against Middle Tennessee State, she defeated Ann Siljestrom, 6-3, 6-2 at position No. 1 in Tulsa's 7-0 victory. KIchoutkin along with partner Jie Zeng also won in doubles, downing Shannon Hartmann and Stphanie Parkison, 8-7 (7-4). In TU's 4-3 loss to No. 47-ranked Wichita State, Kichoutkin beat Anna Egorova at the No. 1 position, 6-4, 6-7 (7-10), 6-1. In doubles, Kichoutkin norrowly lost to Florentina Hanisch, 8-7 (9-7). Kichoutkin along with partner Zeng is 10-2 on the season in doubles. This is Kichuotkin's third weekly honor of 2008 (Feb. 5, Feb. 19).
