IRVING, Texas - Tulsa moved up to No. 12 in the latest ITA men's tennis rankings, while Rice is just behind in 13th. SMU comes next at No. 65 and UAB is also not ranked at No. 75.
SMU's David Kuczer is this week's Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week after going undefeated last weekend against No. 32 Virginia Tech and No. 21 VCU at the No. 2 singles and doubles line. Kuczer is now 9-2 on the season and on a seven-match singles win streak. Alexandra Kichoutkin of Tulsa is the women's tennis Player of the Week after she moved to 12-2 with wins at the No. 1 singles spot against Middle Tennessee State and No. 47 Wichita State.

Kuczer went undefeated last weekend, playing at No. 32 Virginia Tech and No. 21 VCU. Against Va. Tech, Kuczer notched a straight-set win over Nicolas Delgado de Robles at No. 2, taking the match 6-3, 6-4. In doubles, he paired with Adolfo Solares at No. 2 to defeat Brandon Corace and Albert Larregola, 8-4, helping the Mustangs win the doubles point. At VCU, Kuczer dropped the first set to Damien Lacombe, 6-2, but overcame his slow start to take the next two sets, 7-5, 6-4. In doubles, he paired with Adham el-Effendi at No. 2 to defeat 48th-ranked Thibaut Charron and Martin Schulhauser, 8-5, to again help the Mustangs win the doubles point, and nearly upset the Rams. With the wins, Kuczer is now 9-2 on the season and on a seven-match singles win streak and a five-match doubles win streak. The C-USA weekly honor is the first of Kuczer's career.

Brugues led the Golden Hurricane to 5-2 victory over No. 47-ranked Oklahoma in Tulsa. At the No. 1 position, the No. 38-ranked Brugues defeated the No. 34-ranked Andrei Daescu, 6-3, 6-4. In doubles, Brugues and Ricardo Soriano, who are ranked No. 39, rolled over the Sooner pair of Alexandru Joitoiu and Vlad Marinescu, 8-2. Bruges is 8-4 in singles and 11-1 in doubles on the season.
