IRVING, Texas - Tulsa claimed the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational title with a 13-over par 589 on Tuesday at the Cooper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif. This was the first women's tournament title for TU since winning the WAC Championship in 2005. The 31st-ranked Golden Hurricane shot a two-over par 290 in the second round, after turning in a second-best mark of 299 in the first round. Freshman Kelly Fuchik and Woori Shin each carded rounds of 74-73 for a three-over par score of 147 to finish in a tie for sixth-place.

At the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational, Fuchik and Shin each carded rounds of 74-73 for a three-over par score of 147 to finish in a tie for sixth-place to guide the Hurricane to a first-place finish. The 31st-ranked Golden Hurricane shot a two-over par 290 in today's second round, after turning in a second-best mark of 299 in yesterday's first round. This was the first women's tournament title for TU since winning the WAC Championship in 2005. The C-USA weekly honors are the first for both Fuchik and Shin.

LESLIE GRABEMAN - Memphis

Grabeman led Memphis with a tie for fourth place in her debut tournament as a Tiger. Grabeman posted a 76 in the rain shortened Fighting Camel Classic, the Tigers' first event of the spring.

LEIGH CROSBY - UCF
Crosby led the Knights with the first top-20 finish of her collegiate career at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Crosby carded her second 71 (-1) of the tournament in her last 18 holes on the Coco Beach Golf Course in San Juan. The 71 equaled her lowest round of her UCF career, matching her score from the opening round, to finish with a three-day total of 222 (+6) and in a tie for 15th.

No. 20 EAST CAROLINA
East Carolina picked up its fifth tournament championship in six events last week at the 2008 Qdoba Invitational... The tournament was being held at the par-72, 6,210-yard Don Shula Golf Resort... Abby Bools guided the Pirates (70-14-0) to the title with a two-over-par 218 (75-72-71) and recorded her second individual title and fourth top-10 finish of the season... For her efforts she was named C-USA Golfer of the Week... Freshman Amber Littman (221) finished in fifth... ECU extended its school record by picking up its fifth team title of the year... Bools became the third Pirate golfer to claim two titles in the same season... In 5-of-6 events this season, the Pirates had at least two golfers finish in the top-5... ECU will hit the links again on March 9 when they travel Pinehurst, N.C. for the Pinehurst Challenge.

MARSHALL
Whitney Wolejko shot a team-best 77 as Marshall improved two spots to finish the UAB Beach Bash in 11th place Nov. 5-6... Wolejko was one of four MU golfers to shoot an 81 or lower... Two strokes behind Wolejko was Andrea Grier, who shot a 79, followed by an 80 from Larie Lynch and an 81 from Molly Ginger... Ginger, who shot a 74 to lead the Herd on day one, tied for 18th place overall with a total of 155 (+11)... Lynch tied for 26th with a 157... This marked the final tournament of Marshall's fall season... The team's next competition will be the weekend of March 9 when the Herd travels to Pinehurst, N.C., for the Pinehurst Challenge.

MEMPHIS
Memphis finished in third place at the Fighting Camel Classic in its first tournament of the spring... Memphis finished the event just one stroke behind Elon... The tournament was originally scheduled for 36 holes, but heavy rains and thunderstorms washed out the second round... Sophomore Leslie Grabeman led the Memphis with a tie for fourth place in her debut tournament... Grabeman posted a 76... Junior Rachel Larson tied for 12th a 78... The Tigers will return to action when they travel to Pinehurst, N.C. to compete in the Pinehurst Challenge, March 9-11.

SMU
SMU finished in an 11th-place tie in its spring opener Feb. 19, carding a three-round total of 935 at the Central District Invitational at the River Wilderness Golf Club... The Mustangs finished tied with Oklahoma and two spots ahead of Baylor... SMU finished the event without standout Kate Ackerson, who had to withdraw after round one due to injury... Freshman Tia Gannon led SMU, finishing tied for 23rd (77-75-78=230)... Sarah Dodson was steady, carding a 234 (79-76-79) to tie for 34th... All-Conference performers Lacey Jones (77-81-78=236) and Laura Cross (84-80-78=242) had uncharacteristically tough outings, tying for 41st and 58th, respectively... The Mustangs return to the links March 7-9 at the Texas A&M "Mo"Morial in Bryan, Texas.

SOUTHERN MISS
Southern Miss shot a team-best 309 in the final round to finish in 11th-place at the Qdoba Invitational... The tournament was played at the Don Shula Resort... Freshmen Virginia Espejo and Jennifer Judge shot 76 and 75, respectively, to close out the event for three-round totals of 235 and a tie for 40th-place... Sophomore Samantha Holt tied for 48th after shooting a 78 for a total of 239... Juniors Heather Golden and Kate Burns round out the Lady Eagles by shooting an 80 and 81, respectively... Southern Miss will take a week off before getting back to the links, March 3-4, at the South Alabama hosted Lady Jaguar Invitational in Mobile, Ala.

TULSA

UAB concluded its second annual UAB Fall Beach Blast Nov. 5-6 in 13th place with a two-round score of 657 at The Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club... The Blazers shot 323 on day two, an 11-stroke improvement from their score of 334 during round one... UAB's top performers were freshmen Lindsay Taylor and Jaime Brabb, who both ended with scores of 163 to tie for 45th overall... The tournament marked the final event of the fall season for the Blazers... UAB will return to action March 3-4 when it competes in the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational in Mobile, Ala.

UCF
UCF fired its second 297 (+9) of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in final round action to finish in a tie for 11th place in the standings... Sophomore Leigh Crosby led the Knights with the first top-20 finish of her collegiate career... Crosby carded her second 71 (-1) of the tournament in her last 18 holes... The 71 equaled her lowest round of her UCF career, matching her score from the opening round, to finish with a three-day total of 222 (+6) and in a tie for 15th... Freshman Jessy Tang posted her lowest score of the tournament in final round action, carding a 74 (+2) and tied for 60th... UTEP
UTEP concluded its fall season by finishing 13th in The Challenge at Wolfdancer in Austin, Texas on Nov. 5... UTEP posted a team score of 979 (331-314=334)... UTEP's Elizabeth Sobczak tied for 25th place (79-76-83=238)... Deborah Martinez tied for 35th place (83-77-80=240)... Shang-Fan Huang tied for 48th place (84-76-84=244) and Ana Pastor finished 64th (85-85-88=258)... The Miners return to the course March 7-9 at the Texas A&M "Mo"Morial in Bryan, Texas.
