Discus-Javelin-Shot Put



Junior (2008): Represented Croatia in the discus at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China...took eighth at the NCAA Championships in the discus with a mark of 185-10 (56.64m), earning All-America honors in the process...captured the NCAA West Regional title in the discus with a mark of 196-00 (59.75m)...also qualified for the national meet in the javelin at the regional, but withdrew his name from the competition to focus on discus...ranked No. 5 in the nation...completed an excellent weekend at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with his first-place finish in the javelin with a season-best, NCAA regional-qualifying mark of 220-04 (67.16m), which also ranks him sixth on Cal's all-time list. Maric also took first in the discus competition (188-10 (57.57m)...recorded the fifth best discuss mark in school history at the Texas Relays, posting a 200-7 (61.13m) the Big Meet, took first in the discus with his mark of 192-00 (58.52m), in the shot put recorded a mark of 52-8.00 (16.05m) to take third, and in the javelin, took second with his mark of 210-04 (64.10m).

(2007): Represented Croatia in the javelin and the discus at the World University Games last summer...took eighth in the discus with his mark of 56.32...he didn't advance to the final in the the qualifying round, he notched a 65.15, good enough for ninth in his group.

Sophomore (2006): Earned All-America honors at Georgia after taking sixth in the javelin at the NCAA championships...finished second in the discus with a PR of (190-1) at the NCAA East Regional...recorded a personal best in the javelin at the regional with a throw of 237-3...was the runner-up in the discus at the SEC championships after registering a throw of 180-4...also took second in the javelin at the conference meet with a throw of 225...finished 11th in the shot put at the SEC championships with a mark of 53-9.75...had a mark of 53-5 in the shot put at the SEC championships.

Freshman (2005): Topped all of his teammates with a 187-00 discus throw, which was the third-longest in school history, in the NCAA regional and took fourth place...finished in 18th place in the NCAA regional (176-00)...won the Georgia Invitational with a throw of 184-08..had nine finishes in the discus of fifth place or better during his first spring outdoor season...placed seventh in the NCAA regional in the javelin (209-07) and grabbed the 10th spot in Georgia history in the event...took third place in the SEC championships with a throw of 209-06...also placed first in both the javelin and discus at the 2005 Croatian championships.

High School: Placed second in discus in 2003 European Junior Championships...runner-up in javelin and third in discus at 2004 Croatian National championships...competed in the World Youth championships and secured a 13th-place finish...participated in the World Junior championships in Jamaica and placed 23rd.
